We spent three days and 2 nights up at a lake above Palmer Creek out by Hope, AK. The days were beautiful despite a pessimistic weather forecast before we left. The nights were really cold. We were swaddled in sleep bags, sleeping bag liners, and long undies head-to-toe. Olivia is going to sew us some fleece bag liners for these tougher parts of the season. It was freezing to go out to the bathroom, but the stars were vivid on such clear nights. We caught a little mountain trout without poles, just lines and hooks.
